Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Laboratory Assistant - Pathological Admin for part-time days. The role supports lab staff with daily operations, specimen handling, inventory management, instrument maintenance, and communication with providers.

Responsibilities include processing and storage of specimens, morgue duties, supply management, and adherence to NYU policies while ensuring accurate records and safe waste disposal.

Qualifications

• High School Degree with 12 college credits in biology or chemistry.
• Laboratory experience including handling open containers of blood and body fluid.
• Knowledge of computer applications especially Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist lab staff with day-to-day operations, specimen management, inventory, and instrument maintenance.
• Maintain morgue and record keeping; assist with body receipt and hand-off.
• Maintain supplies and ensure proper receipt and storage of materials.
• Prepare samples for analysis and assist with shipping and inventory of blood products.
