FREVO is seeking a highly-motivated Pastry Cook. Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and have previous experience working in fine dining restaurants.

General knowledge of cooking techniques, equipment, and safe food handling procedures is required—experience in fine dining (Michelin star-rated preferred).

Frevo is a Michelin Starred restaurant curated by James Beard Award nominated Chef Franco Sampogna and restaurateur Bernardo Silva. The exclusive 16-seat counter, concealed by an art gallery, offers an intimate dining experience overlooking the chef’s work with an open kitchen.

Frevo is looking for an up-and-coming Hospitality professional. Are you looking to play a significant role in developing a restaurant that has ambitions to be one of the top fine-dining destinations in New York City? Are you looking to grow within a restaurant with ambitions to expand and possibilities to grow fast within the structure?

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years of Pastry Cook experience in fine-dining restaurants, Michelin-awarded or similar grade.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to assist in service, serving, and introducing dishes to guests.
  • Extensive and growing knowledge of pastry & cooking techniques.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the restaurant and an endless curiosity for the food world.
  • Positive attitude, careful attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
  • Preferred beforehand but can obtain during employment: NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate.

Responsibilities:

  • Along with the Executive Kitchen Team, research, prepare, and execute different original pastry creations including bread, pastries, mignardises, and desserts.
  • Responsible for ensuring correct mise-en-place for each service.
  • Purchasing/inventory: orders, inventory updates as needed, price comparison.
  • Inventory maintenance, including maintaining clean and organized food storage.
