Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to serve as in-store expert for baking and pastry arts. You will lead hands-on pastry classes, share specialized techniques, and drive sales of bakeware and decorating tools while representing the brand with enthusiasm.

The role involves delivering high-quality experiences, maintaining knowledge of products, and supporting class operations and guest engagement. Part-time hours available in-store in Ann Arbor.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age or older at employment.
• Degree in culinary arts preferred; extensive culinary experience accepted in lieu of formal education.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and decision making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational pastry experiences.
• Deliver pastry and baking classes that drive enrollment, sales, and guest satisfaction.
• Share technical pastry concepts clearly and stay current on products.
• Assist with class setup, breakdown, and inventory management.
