Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead in-store pastry classes, share baking expertise, and inspire customers to learn and shop. You will teach hands-on techniques, follow set recipes, and help grow class sign-ups and product sales.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years kitchen ops experience, a culinary background, and strong communication skills. This role offers flexible hours and opportunities to coach guests in a vibrant retail kitchen.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by delivering memorable, educational pastry experiences.
• Lead in-store pastry and baking classes with adherence to company recipes and standards.
• Explain advanced pastry techniques in a clear, encouraging way.
