Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to serve as the in-store pastry expert and guide for hands-on baking classes. You will deliver high-quality instruction, share pastry techniques, and promote bakeware and tools through engaging sessions.

This role emphasizes customer education, memorable experiences, and strong product knowledge. At 21+ with culinary training or proven experience, you will lead classes, maintain product standards, and drive enrollments while supporting store

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrable proficiency will be considered.
• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Deliver an exceptional in-store culinary experience focused on pastry and baking classes that reflects Sur La Table’s passion for food, teaching, and high standards, while following recipes and game plans for consistency.
• Communicate technical concepts and advanced pastry skills in a clear, encouraging manner.
• Maintains expertise by staying current on products, training, and resources.
• Drive sales by upholding kitchen standards and promoting class sign-ups and related products.
• Deliver class revenue goals by ensuring high enrollment and positive reviews.
• Assist in setting up and breakdown of classes, mise en place, prepping ingredients, and cleaning workstations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation regulations, and manage inventory to control costs.
