Sur La Table in Houston seeks a Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead pastry classes, share baking techniques, and represent the brand in-store. You will deliver expert instruction and inspire enthusiasm in every session.

As the in-store pastry authority, you will drive class enrollment and promote bakeware, mixers, and decorating tools while ensuring safety and quality across all activities.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational pastry experiences and in-store classes.
• Drive class enrollment and promote retail items used or featured in class.
• Communicate technical pastry concepts in a clear, encouraging manner.
• Assist with class setup, mise en place, ingredient prep, and cleaning workstations.
• Maintain food safety standards and safe handling of all tools and equipment.
