Job summary

HTX Material Handling is seeking a Parts Specialist to assist customers and ensure accurate part identification, pricing, and availability. You will read catalogs and computer displays to determine stock numbers and prices, and process orders from stock.

You will advise customers on substitutions, handle returns, and participate in stock counts, with emphasis on friendly service and accurate documentation across branches.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience: 1–2 years of related experience.
• ERP software skills preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Prior automotive or heavy equipment experience and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Identify the specific needs of customers and provide solutions that ensure profitability through satisfaction.
• Read catalogs, microfiche viewers, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
• Determine replacement parts required according to inspections, requests, or malfunction descriptions.
• Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
• Fill customer orders from stock.
• Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
• Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money.
• Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
• Discuss the use and features of various parts based on knowledge of machines or equipment.
• Demonstrate parts and functionality.
• Prepare parts for internal transfer between branches.
• Distribute internal shuttle shipment on incoming parts transfers.
