Job summary

Columbus Equipment Company, a long‑standing family-owned dealer in Ohio, seeks a warehouse/parts delivery associate. You will pick up and deliver parts, stage stock, and support the parts department while maintaining accurate records and safety practices.

The role requires a valid driver's license, basic math and literacy in English, and the ability to pass forklift training. A strong work ethic and reliability are essential to join our team in Ohio.

Qualifications

Responsibilities and Duties

• Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
• Checks with the parts manager and the parts counter representatives before leaving to coordinate any last‑minute pick‑ups or deliveries.
• Verifies that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
• Checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
• Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick‑ups. Requests recipient's signature on each delivery entry.
• Unloads truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
• Pull, ship or stage generated parts orders.
• Receive and stage all incoming stock.
• Check stock in and put stock away.
• Put inventory away received from credit memos.
• Load and unload freight with all carriers.
• Load customer’s trucks with “Will Call” materials.
• Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed.
• Advises parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
• General Cleanup of all Parts Department.
• Operate the warehouse forklift and perform various material handling duties.

Qualifications

• Office clerical skills. Valid driver’s license with clean MVR
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to fluently read, write, and comprehend English.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Good hand-eye coordination and motor skills and able to handle equipment safely.
• Required to pass an in-house Forklift Driver’s Training Program.
• Able to drive a standard shift truck W/2 speed axle and 16 ft. bed.
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Criminal Background screening and DOT Drug Test

Physical Requirements

• Required to use computers and office machines.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs and ladders, lift 50 pounds regularly and repeatedly and use hands.
• Must have the ability to enter, exit, and inspect construction equipment.
