Job summary

Columbus Equipment Company, a long-standing heavy equipment dealer, seeks a Service Supervisor to lead the service team and ensure customer satisfaction and profitability. You will coordinate with customers, manage paperwork, and oversee technicians while upholding safety standards and asset care.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently, with an emphasis on teamwork and reliability within a family-owned Midwest operation.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience with earth moving equipment parts and service in a customer contact role.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Positive attitude with problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Criminal Background and DOT Drug Test.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction and profitability within the service department.
• Communicate with customers and resolve disputes ethically.
• Maintain timely paperwork flow to keep work in process low.
• Provide timely and accurate invoices to customers with support staff.
• Oversee human resources within the department and maintain technician productivity and safety.
• Oversee replacement and repair of internal physical assets.

Responsibilities and Duties

• The Service Supervisor is responsible for customer satisfaction and overall profitability within the service department's areas of responsibility.
• Candidate communicates with customers and ethically resolves disputes keeping the customer and company's interest in mind.
• The Service Supervisor is responsible for timely paperwork flow keeping work in process as low as possible.
• With assistance from the support staff, the Service Supervisor provides timely and accurate invoices to customers.
• He/she is also responsible for the human resources within the department, with a focus of maintaining a high level of technician productivity, efficiency, and safety.
• The individual recommends and oversees replacement and repair of internal physical assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, college, and/or tech school helpful.
• Three or more years of experience with earth moving equipment parts and service in a customer contact position.
• Candidate must have proven track record in customer satisfaction
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities
• Positive attitude, problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Candidate must be highly motivated and be able to work well in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Criminal Background screening and DOT Drug Test
