Job summary

Mustang Cat in Southeast Texas is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Parts Counter Sales Representative to help customers identify, locate, and order heavy equipment parts. You’ll research part numbers, confirm availability, and coordinate orders to keep equipment running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of customer service experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external Parts customers
• Assist customers in identifying and locating the correct heavy equipment parts
• Research part numbers, quantities, availability, sourcing options, freight, and delivery timelines
• Process parts orders accurately and efficiently
• Communicate order information, availability, and updates to customers
• Use computer systems and parts resources to research and fulfill customer requests
• Collaborate with team members to resolve customer needs and support daily operations

Mustang Cat, the authorized Caterpillar® dealer for Southeast Texas, is hiring a customer-focused Parts Counter Sales Representative to support our growing Parts Division.

What You'll Do as a Parts Counter Sales Representative:

As a Parts Counter Sales Representative, you'll provide knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient service while helping customers find the right parts for their equipment.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external Parts customers
• Assist customers in identifying and locating the correct heavy equipment parts
• Research part numbers, quantities, availability, sourcing options, freight, and delivery timelines
• Process parts orders accurately and efficiently

• Assist in other areas of the Parts Department as needed

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in heavy equipment or machinery
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
• Excellent communication skills, including phone, email, written, and face-to-face interactions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Friendly, outgoing, and professional attitude
• Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and go above and beyond for customers
• Strong dedication to providing exceptional customer service

Preferred Experience:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Familiarity with Caterpillar parts systems
• Previous experience in heavy equipment, parts sales, industrial supply, or a related industry
• Experience identifying, sourcing, or ordering mechanical and equipment parts
