Coastal Construction Equipment, LLC is expanding in Southern Florida and seeks a Parts Counter Salesperson to be a primary contact for customers seeking parts, supplies, and product information for heavy equipment. You will assist customers at the counter, by phone, and digitally, using catalogs and internal systems to identify parts.

Responsibilities include processing orders, managing inventory, coordinating with service technicians, and providing pricing and lead times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment parts and dealer environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAT SIS or similar parts lookup systems is preferred.

Responsabilités

Position Scope

The Parts Counter Salesperson serves as a primary point of contact for customers seeking parts, supplies, and product information for heavy equipment. This role supports both internal and external customers by providing accurate parts identification, order processing, inventory coordination, and exceptional service. The position directly contributes to customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and overall parts department performance.

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Strong understanding of heavy equipment components, systems, and parts terminology
• Ability to read parts diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and point of sale software
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

Preferred Qualification(s)

• Prior experience in a dealership, equipment rental, or machinery service environment
• Familiarity with Caterpillar parts or similar OEM product lines
• Experience with counter sales or technical sales

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical school training in diesel technology, mechanics, or related fields preferred

• Assist in mentoring new parts personnel when requested

Preferred Experience And Skills

• 2+ years of experience in parts sales, equipment service, or related fields
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Familiarity with Caterpillar SIS or similar parts lookup systems
• Ability to build strong customer relationships

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle parts of varying sizes
• Extended periods of standing at the counter
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Work Environment

• Primarily indoor parts counter and warehouse environment
• Frequent interaction with customers, technicians, and vendors
• Exposure to noise, dust, and equipment typical of a machinery dealership

Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, employees must be careful while performing onsite services.
