Job description

We are seeking hands on Participant Recruiters & Schedulers to support a large-scale, high-volume research study in New York City.

This is an execution focused role responsible for recruiting, screening, and scheduling participants to maintain a consistent pipeline and support a daily project target of 60 completed participants per day.

Recruiters will use a combination of digital sourcing, direct outreach, community engagement, referrals, and field recruiting to identify qualified participants. You will also manage participant scheduling, confirmations, follow-ups, cancellations, and replacements to help ensure sessions remain fully booked.

Engagement Type & Duration

This is atemporary hourly contract position supporting a project running from September 29 through November 4, 2026, with limited pre-project recruiting and scheduling activities beginning approximately one week before project launch.

Pay:

$25 - $35/hour

Maximum Hours:

Up to 216 hours for the duration of the assignment

Schedule:

Hours will vary based on project needs. The first five weeks of participant sessions are scheduled for approximately 3 days per week, with 2 session days during the final week. Additional hours will be scheduled for participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, confirmations, follow-up, and other project support on non-session days.

What You’ll Do

• Recruit, screen, and schedule participants for a high-volume research study
• Help maintain sufficient participant pipelines and scheduled appointments to support a target of 60 completed participants per day
• Conduct proactive outreach through digital sourcing, community outreach, referrals, local organizations, campuses, public areas, and other appropriate channels
• Contact prospective participants and conduct initial qualification screening
• Schedule qualified participants into available study sessions
• Manage confirmations, reminders, rescheduling, cancellations, no-shows, and replacement participants
• Maintain an active pipeline of qualified and backup participants to help keep sessions filled
• Maintain accurate participant, scheduling, outreach, and pipeline records in shared trackers and systems
• Follow up consistently with prospective and scheduled participants
• Coordinate closely with onsite project teams regarding attendance, cancellations, no-shows, participant flow, and replacement needs
• Track recruiting and scheduling progress against daily and weekly targets and **escalate** risks early

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Experience in high-volume recruiting, participant recruitment, scheduling, sourcing, community outreach, or a similar execution-focused role
• Comfortable working toward daily recruiting and scheduling targets in a fast-paced environment
• Strong phone, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Highly organized and able to manage a large volume of participant outreach, appointments, follow-ups, and schedule changes
• Persistent and comfortable conducting proactive outreach to prospective participants
• Comfortable with both digital recruiting and in-person/community outreach
• Strong attention to detail when maintaining participant and scheduling records
• Reliable, responsive, and able to adapt quickly as project needs and participant schedules change

Preferred

• Experience in:
• Participant recruitment, research studies, market research, user research, field recruiting, community outreach, event staffing, high-volume recruiting, appointment setting, or scheduling is a plus.
• Field recruiting, community outreach, or grassroots campaigns
• Familiarity with New York City and surrounding areas
