Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with practice management software Cornerstone, Avimark, ImproMed, eVetPractice, or ezyVet.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and vaccination protocols.
• Proficiency in appointment scheduling, multi-line phone management, medical records management, and payment processing.
• Proven customer service skills with composure under high-volume client relations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and conflict resolution.
• Comfortable handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients; verify and update medical records.
• Answer and manage a multi-line phone system; respond to appointment and info inquiries.
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-ups.
• Communicate medical information compassionately, including end-of-life discussions.
• Maintain EMR and timely data entry in PIMS.
• Coordinate with veterinarians and staff to relay client communications and maintain flow.
• Maintain reception area and waiting room for a positive client experience.
