Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services provider, seeks a Part-Time Security Officer for unarmed vehicle patrol in Fairfax, VA. The role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to work with a dynamic, customer-focused team.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at a utility operations location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor credentials as required, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazardous conditions, access-control issues, and other security-related observations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
