USTA Pacific Northwest is seeking RecTennis Instructors and Site Directors to work at local parks, schools, and recreational centers. This part-time, hourly, seasonal, on-call role pays $17.50–$22.50 per hour depending on city and job role.

The organization is a nonprofit with a strong mission to provide programs that engage youth and communities. The position reports to the Regional Manager of Recreational Tennis and involves on-site duties across diverse sites.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching tennis is preferred.
• Instructors can be an employee of any age over 14 generally; Site Director must be 18+.
• Experience working with children and adults in a teaching setting is preferred.
• Dependability, communication skills, and an excellent work ethic.
• Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
• Desire to work with children and act as a positive role model.
• Ability to lead and direct participant activities and transitions.
• Desire, passion, and ability to promote and grow the game of tennis.
• Must pass a background check.
• Ability to make quick decisions that best serve participants.
• Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, partners, vendors.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all participants.
• Communicate professionally with parents, partners, and community organizers.
• Implement program curriculum and provide on-going instruction and expertise at program sites.
• Ensure equipment set-up and take down for each session; ensure equipment is in safe condition to use.
• Check attendance roll for each session and check-out with parent sign-off for conclusion of each session.
• Stay at site until all participants have been picked up by authorized personnel.
• Perform marketing tasks as needed (flyers, events).
• Programs occur at outdoor and indoor sites/facilities and may include extreme weather conditions.
• Performing other duties as assigned by Site Director or Regional Manager.
