Job summary

Think Together seeks Substitute Program Leaders to supervise and mentor students in after-school programs across the region. The role involves guiding activities, enforcing safety protocols, and delivering engaging curriculum during the 1:00 PM–6:00 PM window.

You will work with diverse groups, foster a sense of belonging, and ensure students reach their potential through structured activities and positive mentorship. Strong English communication and attendance every weekday are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 48 college semester units or 60 college quarter units or by passing an Instructional Aide Test.
• Ability to speak and write standard English in a public school setting.
• Available at least 5 days a week (Mon-Fri).
• Program times roughly 1:00 PM–6:00 PM; may vary with school schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using provided curriculum.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for students.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices and apply disciplinary measures when needed.
• Engage children by following and helping implement lesson plans.
• Ensure student safety during setup, break down and site maintenance.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per child safety guidelines.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and signing in/out.
• Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinator, teachers, and parents.
• Commit to a full-year program; arrive on-time, complete time cards.
• Participate in staff development activities.
