Job summary

Think Together is seeking a Substitute Program Leader (Part-Time) to support students at multiple sites within the region. You will assist with homework, enrichment activities, and physical activity, serving as a positive role model and mentor.

The role requires enthusiasm for youth development, strong English communication, and the ability to work 3 days a week (1:00 PM–6:00 PM). Safety and classroom management are essential responsibilities in a nurturing school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children and the ability to inspire and motivate.
• Proof of graduation from High School or GED is required.
• 48 college semester or 60 college quarter units or passing an Instructional Aide Test may be required.
• Ability to speak and write standard English appropriate in public school settings.
• Availability for at least 3 days a week (Mon-Fri).
• Shift times are roughly 1:00 PM–6:00 PM and may vary with school schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using provided curriculum.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for students.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices and apply disciplinary measures as needed.
• Engage children by following and assisting with lesson plans.
• Ensure student safety by helping with setup, break down, and site maintenance.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per child safety guidelines.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and reviewing sign-ins/sign-outs.
• Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinators, teachers and parents as appropriate.
• Commit to a full-year program by arriving on time every day and completing time cards.
• Participate in staff development activities.
