Job summary

Washtenaw Community College invites applications for a Part Time Student Advisor role to support academic advising and registration for students. The position operates on campus up to 20 hours per week with a flexible daytime schedule, including Saturdays as needed.

As part of the Instruction department, you will use email, chat, Zoom, and LMS tools to assist students, triage questions, and connect them with counselors when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• Equivalent of two years college-level work experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours including Saturdays.
• Proficient with online tools (email, chat, Zoom, LMS) and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising and assist with registration.
• Support Advising and Coaching department and students.
• Manage advising inbox and portal; handle overrides.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools appropriately and maintain confidentiality.
