Job summary

Tarrant County College is seeking an Academic Advisor on a part-time basis to support student success by engaging with students through non-scheduled times and referrals to Career Advisors when needed.

The role focuses on advising from entry to completion, assisting with transcripts, degree plans, and coordinating with faculty and staff to enhance student outcomes. This is a PT role with a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Three years of related experience required.
• Within one year, transition to Career Advisor after CAEL/NCDA certifications.
• Bilingual in Spanish conversational ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide general advising to assigned students and groups from entry to completion.
• Overview of degree plans for core, major and transfer students.
• Proactively communicate with students, partners and stakeholders via multiple channels.
• Develop action plans from student data with director approval.
• Maintain records, degree planning, and assist with substitution/equivalency processes.
• Support graduation initiatives and serve as liaison among students, staff, faculty, and admins.
