Job summary

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Part-Time Academic Advisor. The role provides one-on-one and group academic, career and college transfer advising to students to enhance engagement and informed decision-making.

The position is 25 hours per week, five days, with occasional up to 29 hours during peak times. Must be available for day, evening, and weekend hours and travel between all campuses and off-site locations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Advising experience, preferably at a community college.
• Experience with Health Science students and/or minority populations preferred.
• Bilingual/multilingual/Spanish-speaking preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory and college advising.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group academic, career and college transfer advising.
• Assist students with decision-making and utilization of services.
• Travel between all campuses and off-site locations as needed.
• Workday, evening and weekend hours may be required.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of college programs and resources.
