Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a part-time paraeducator to support special education students under direct supervision of certified teachers. You will assist with classroom tasks, reinforce learning objectives, and help with daily living activities as outlined by IEPs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits required at time of hire.
• Pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom tasks under teacher direction and reinforce objectives.
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintaining the classroom.
• Collect data on academic and behavior goals as instructed.
• Collaborate with certified personnel on positive behavior plans for students with challenging behaviors.
• Transfer and/or lift non-ambulatory students to assist daily living activities.
• Assist with personal hygiene and daily care for students as needed.
• Attend meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Provide clerical support such as copies, materials, and billing.
