Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to assist, under direct supervision of certified teachers and specialists, in monitoring and instructing special education students under IEPs. You will help students with academics, daily living tasks, and health care activities, and relieve teachers of routine clerical duties.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom work and reinforce objectives under the teacher's direction.
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintaining the classroom.
• Assist in collecting data on academic and behavior goals as instructed.
• Implement positive behavior intervention plans for students.
• Support students with personal care needs as required during the school day.
• Accompany students during transitions and supervise small groups to ensure safety.
