Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to assist in special education settings under direct supervision of certified teachers and specialists. You will help monitor and instruct students implementing IEPs, support daily living and health care activities, and relieve teachers of routine clerical tasks.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, therapists, and staff to create a safe learning environment, while helping students with academic and behavioral goals and transitioning

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire or pass the ParaPro Test.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom work and reinforce objectives under teacher direction.
• Assist in development of instructional materials.
• Assist in the collection of data on academic and behavior goals.
• In collaboration with certified personnel implement positive behavior intervention plans.
• Assist with transfers and daily living activities for students.
• Attend meetings and support routine clerical tasks as directed.
