Job summary

Mesa Public Schools seeks a part-time paraeducator to assist certified teachers and specialists in monitoring and instructing students with disabilities under IEPs. Responsibilities include supporting academic and daily living activities and reducing behavioral risks within a collaborative classroom setting.

Under supervision, you will help implement instructional plans, lift and transfer students if needed, and aid with clerical tasks while maintaining a safe, respectful learning environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge.
• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom work under teacher direction, reinforce objectives, tutor and guide practice.
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintaining the classroom.
• Assist in data collection on academic and behavior goals per instructions.
• Support positive behavior plans and safety policies.
• Assist with student transfers, personal care, and daily living activities as needed.
• Supervise students and maintain a safe learning environment.
