Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport students and volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires a clean driving record, a current CDL with a passenger vehicle endorsement, and compliance with background checks and drug testing.

Drivers must be reliable, punctual, and abide by safety procedures while maintaining the bus in good condition. The position is non-exempt and paid hourly.

Qualifications

• CDL driver license and P endorsement required
• Age 21–80; annual renewal for drivers over 75
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents/traffic citations in last 5 years
• Background check and FMCSA Clearinghouse check
• Drug/alcohol testing required (pre-employment, random, post-accidents)
• Medical statement for known conditions per underwriter policy

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws at all times
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular bus inspections and refuel as needed
• Create a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle and monitor behavior
• Complete LifeWise Academy training and participate in classroom volunteering if approved
