Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport students and volunteers between designated LifeWise sites. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and a compassionate demeanor while adhering to LifeWise policies and state driving regulations.

The ideal candidate will hold a CDL with passenger endorsement, maintain a clean driving record, pass background and drug tests, and commit to LifeWise Academy’s faith-based standards. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement required; School bus endorsement preferred.
• Age 21–80; for drivers over 75, annual CDL copy submission.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in 5 years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Drug/alcohol testing required (pre-employment, random, post-accidents).

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws consistently.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus; perform regular inspections.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Enforce safety rules and assist students entering/exiting the bus.
• Create a calm, caring environment and monitor student behavior.
• Complete LifeWise Academy training.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if approved by director.
