Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport public school students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role emphasizes safety, punctuality, and a caring demeanor while upholding the academy’s faith-based standards.

The driver must hold a CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement, ideally a school bus endorsement, maintain a clean driving record, and complete required training and background checks.

Qualifications

• Mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• CDL license with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required.
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Age 21–80, with annual CDL documentation for drivers over 75.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in last 5 years.
• Background check via LifeWise Academy.
• Drug/alcohol testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular bus inspections.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules and assist students with entering/exiting.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Complete LifeWise Academy training.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if approved by director.
