Job summary

Intermountain Health in Butte, MT, is seeking an RN Shift Lead I for part-time day shift at St James Hospital. In this role you provide leadership and clinical expertise on your shift, coordinate unit resources, and model professional nursing practice to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

You will supervise staff, respond to emergencies, collaborate with staffing, communicate census and admission information to the charge nurse, and participate in hospital committees as needed.

Qualifications

• BSN within 4 years unless 15 years acute care experience
• Current State of Montana RN License
• BLS Certification upon hire

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care and supports staff in problem solving related to patient/family complaints and safety.
• Respond to patient emergencies; acts as charge or lead for disasters as needed.
• Collaborates with staffing office to adjust staff numbers for census changes on the shift.
• Communicates census, staffing, admissions, and discharges to the oncoming Charge Nurse to aid assignments.
• Supports unit management in productivity, staffing, and timekeeping, and coordinates unit activities.
• May float to other departments as needed within competency; may be placed on-call during a scheduled shift.
