Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Part-time Retail Sales Lead at our Oakland location. This 25‑hour weekly position involves assisting the Store Manager with daily operations, POS duties, inventory, merchandising, and donor interaction to deliver exceptional customer service.

You will help monitor performance metrics, supervise staff in the manager's absence, and ensure security and adherence to ARC policies. Benefits include PTO, discounts, and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED.
• Minimum one-year retail experience and supervisory experience preferred.
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in daily store operations.
• Assumes responsibility for day-to-day store operations in absence of Store/Assistant Manager.
• Monitors KPIs to drive sales and profitability as per budgets and goals.
• Schedules Store Employees to ensure coverage and conducts daily meetings; provides coaching and development.
• Ensures customer and donor satisfaction and improves the customer experience.
• Supports Back Room Processing to meet daily processing goals.
• Supervises and reports on Beneficiaries when Work Therapy is in place.
• Protects store currency and inventory; manages deposits and security.
• Ensures building security during non-operating hours and compliance with ARC policy.
• Implements safety measures and records weekly store meetings.
• May transfer to other stores based on business needs.
• Completes tasks assigned by District Sales Manager and Command Retail Directors.
