Job summary

SMX is seeking a part-time Junior Project Analyst to support TARs, RIPs, and coordination across a distributed government-focused program team. This role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and cross-team communication in a remote setting with <24 hours per week.

You will work closely with Portfolio Lead, project managers, contracts, and finance to ensure actions are initiated and tracked according to internal processes.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma and 2+ years in administrative, operations, logistics, or project support.
• Must be actively enrolled and seeking a business degree in a US accredited higher learning institution.
• US Citizenship required for work on government DoW contracts.
• Experience coordinating requests, approvals, and follow-up actions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Excel and Word for trackers and documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• TAR (Travel Authorization Request) Support: initiate, track, and maintain TARs per contract and policies.
• RIP (Request to Initiate Purchase) Support: prepare and submit RIPs for labor, materials, or services.
• Project & Administrative Support: maintain trackers, logs, and documentation; capture actions and deadlines; support reports.
• Process Adherence & Improvement: use checklists, templates, and workflows; elevate issues to Portfolio Lead.
