Job summary

SMX is seeking a people-oriented, detail-driven part-time Junior Project Analyst to support TARs and RIPs on a DoW contract. You will coordinate across portfolio leadership, internal teams, subcontractors, and government representatives from a remote, distributed program team across time zones.

The role is less than 24 hours per week with duties centered on travel authorizations, procurement requests, trackers, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for a government security clearance.
• US Citizenship is required for DoW contracts.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating requests, approvals, and follow-up actions.
• Active enrollment pursuing a business degree in a US accredited institution.
• 2+ years of administrative, operations, logistics, or project support experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• TAR (Travel Authorization Request) Support: initiate, track, and maintain TARs.
• RIP (Request to Initiate Purchase) Support: prepare and submit RIPs for labor, materials, or services.
• Coordinate with project staff, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather travel details.
• Communicate travel approval status, policy constraints, and next steps clearly.
• Track RIP status through approval and execution; follow up to resolution.
• Maintain trackers, logs, and documentation repositories.
• Support weekly/monthly reporting with accurate inputs.
• Apply standardized checklists, templates, and workflows consistently.
• Identify recurring issues and elevate to Portfolio Lead.
• Support continuous improvement by guiding stakeholders on processes.
