Job summary

The Scion Group is seeking a Porter/Gatekeeper to provide essential care and maintenance of the property's common areas, indoor and outdoor. This on-site role emphasizes safety, initiative, and attention to detail in a collegiate environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning, landscaping, basic repairs, operating irrigation and pool equipment, understanding emergency procedures, and supporting after-hours needs.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or trade school diploma and one year of experience in lawn/grounds maintenance or equivalent.
• Efficient in reading instructions and documenting labor and materials.
• Record of punctuality and dependability, able to work under deadlines and adapt to after-hours/weekend emergencies.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Job location is at the assigned property.
• Serves in an on-call capacity, except during approved PTO periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical condition of the property per SOPs and industry standards.
• Perform physically demanding tasks to maintain assets and minimize liabilities.
• Remove trash and debris from common areas continually.
• Sweep and clear debris from curbs, parking lots, walkways and stairs as scheduled.
• Maintain and repair stairwell treads and exterior lighting.
• Mow lawns, trim beds, rake leaves, and manage landscaping upkeep.
• Maintain irrigation systems and fountains; repair pool equipment as directed.
• Know emergency procedures including shutoffs and access to utilities; promote safety.
• Assist in snow removal and participate in required training.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uniform.
