Job summary

BioLife is hiring for a part-time plasma donor screener/phlebotomy role in Waterloo, IA. You will interact with donors, screen and record vital signs, and support center operations with accurate data entry and donor compensation duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
• Evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs., occasional lifting up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
• 90% of tasks require prolonged glove wear due to exposure to bloodborne pathogens
• 1+ years in a customer or patient facing role is helpful

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet donors, focusing on donor safety and service.
• Screen new and repeat donors and record donor vital signs and finger-stick results.
• Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain records and coordinate donor compensation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and initiate changes per approved procedures.
• Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays to support donors.
