Job summary

BioLife is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist in Des Moines, IA. The role offers 4–6 hour shifts, 3+ days per week, with paid interactive training. You will greet donors, perform venipuncture, monitor donors, and manage plasmapheresis equipment, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to stand for the entire shift.
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Lift up to 5 lbs., and up to 32 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs rarely.
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens with glove use.
• 1+ year in a customer/patient facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
• Monitor donors during donation and manage donor reactions.
• Operate and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment per training.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies and assist with disposal.
• Record donor measurements and enter data into DIS.
• Coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors via Debit Card system.
• Support center management in process improvements (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen).
