Job summary

NYU Langone Health seeks a Part-Time Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the Psychiatry unit on the Evening Shift. The role supports licensed nurses, provides compassionate patient care, and helps maintain unit safety and supplies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with hospital experience (>=6 months) or CNA with EKG & Phlebotomy course and PCT cert eligible + >=6 months hospital experience.
• BLS/CPR certification required (AHA). Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care tasks and maintain safety and sanitation.
• Support data collection for unit quality and performance improvement.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge procedures as assigned.
• Provide respectful communication with patients, families and staff at all times.
• Respond to call bells and patient requests promptly within role scope.
• Observe for changes in patient condition and report to the nurse.
