Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the 17E Medicine Unit Evening Shift (37.5 hours). The role assists professional nurses with patient care, supports unit safety and supplies, and upholds NYU Langone Health Core Values in performance of duties.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, PCT program completion with hospital experience, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• CNA with course completion in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• PCT Certification through NHA with at least 6 months hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists the professional nurse in patient care and family support.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of the unit and equipment.
• Participates in Quality and Performance Improvement data collection.
• Supports unit activities and participates in emergencies as directed.
• Demonstrates infection prevention and control standards.
• Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges per unit operations.
