NYU Langone Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the Psychiatry-HCC unit on the Night Shift. The role supports professional nurses by providing safe, compassionate patient care and by assisting with unit operations, phlebotomy, ECGs and routine tests during a 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; PCT program graduate with hospital experience preferred.
• Graduate of CNA program with course completion in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry to position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in patient care tasks and ensure safe, compassionate care.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and environment with attention to infection prevention.
• Support unit Quality Improvement data collection and patient satisfaction efforts.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge procedures as directed by the nurse.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care team; respond promptly to call lights and requests.
• Support other team members and participate in unit meetings and education as needed.
