Job summary

Akron Children's in Canton, OH is seeking a Patient Service Representative to support front desk operations, patient arrival and payment processing. This part-time role (32 hours per week) requires onsite presence with shifts such as 7:45 am to 6:00 pm and variable schedules.

You will greet patients, handle visit preparation, collect co-pays, schedule visits, and ensure HIPAA compliance while maintaining a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a general office or healthcare setting preferred.
• Familiarity with scheduling systems and HIPAA knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families, maintaining a positive relationship.
• Perform visit preparation, co-pay collection and patient tracking as assigned.
• Schedule patient visits or diagnostic testing using hospital procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and collection of co-pays.
• Carry out front desk duties, messages, faxing, filing and mailings.
• Maintain front desk inventory and communicate needs to staff.
• Support smooth office operations by prioritizing workload.
• Ensure waiting area and department appearance are clean and orderly.
• Participate in clerical cross-coverage and HIPAA compliance.
• Other duties as required.
