Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a Manager on Duty (MOD) to welcome members, volunteers, and staff, connect people to programs, and support members in achieving goals. The MOD will oversee building operations, safety, conduct, and age-appropriate activities during designated hours, including Saturdays and Sundays. Hours are Saturdays from 6:45 a.m.

to 11:00 a.m. and Sundays from 11:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with duties spanning incident management, member engagement, program support, and

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school is preferred.
• Three to six months of customer service, security, or supervision experience preferred.
• Must be able to interact with people of all backgrounds and enforce YMCA policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and document incidents and follow through on open items.
• Model member engagement and service principles to staff and members.
• Report branch activities and member successes to leadership.
• Provide support to members and program participants.
• Tour prospective members and invite them to join.
• Maintain all areas in a clean, presentable condition.
• Ensure equipment is clean and safe and enforce safety standards and policies.
