Job summary

YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is seeking a part-time Membership Associate in Millington, TN. You will deliver excellent service to members and guests, promote memberships and programs, and help maintain a welcoming lobby area.

The role requires strong customer service, sales experience, and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Training and certifications will be completed within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone.
• Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.
• Employee will accurately report work time via approved YMCA Clocking Method: Branch Kiosk, YMCA site phone, YMCA iPad, or timesheet.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings
• Assist with facility tours
• Serve as a YMCA representative at special events
• Attend designated YMCA trainings and certification courses
