Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist in the WI ACL Laboratories – St Lukes: South Shore location. The position runs 20 hours per week, 1400 to 2230, with weekend and holiday rotation. Responsibilities include performing and evaluating laboratory tests, ensuring QA/QC, and providing staff training.

Licensure in ASCP/BOC or AMT within 1 year is required. Education includes a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology or related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• No prior experience required.
• Licensure within 1 year (ASCP/AMT) is required or obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform and monitor laboratory tests per protocols.
• Evaluate results for clinical significance and report accordingly.
• Calibrate, maintain and repair instruments; detect malfunctions.
• Ensure QA/QC and take corrective action when needed.
• Label specimens correctly and collect from patients per protocol.
• Provide training and guidance to staff and students.
