Job summary

US Heart & Vascular is seeking a Part-time Medical Front Office Specialist to join HeartPlace in Richardson, TX. The role focuses on patient intake, data entry, and front desk operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of medical front desk experience, EMR familiarity (ECW or Athena), and experience obtaining prior authorizations. Day shift on-site at Richardson locations with occasional travel to other HeartPlace clinics.

Qualifications

• 1 year of medical front desk and customer service experience.
• 6 months of EMR experience (ECW or Athena preferred).
• 6 months of obtaining prior authorization experience.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients at check-in and enters data.
• Ensures patient demographics are up to date.
• Requests co-pays, balances and coinsurance at arrival.
• Provides support for clinic phone calls.
• Notifies clinical staff of patient arrivals.
• Completes pre-certification/pre-authorizations before arrival.
• Prepares charts and paperwork for next-day patients.
• Supports check-out: totals charges and collects payments.
• Assists scheduling process.
• Performs other duties as required.
• May move between locations as needed.
