Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Full-time Medical Front Office Specialist for HeartPlace in Frisco, TX. Day shift, high school diploma required, with at least 1 year of medical front desk and customer service experience.

Responsibilities include patient check-in, updating demographics, collecting co-pays, handling clinic calls, pre-certifications, scheduling, and chart preparation. EMR familiarity with ECW or Athena preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of medical front desk and customer service experience required.
• 6 months of EMR experience required (ECW or Athena preferred).
• 6 months of obtaining prior authorization experience required.

Responsibilities

• Registers all new patients at time of check-in and enters data in computer system.
• Ensures all established patients have updated and accurate demographic information.
• Requests co-pays, patient balances and coinsurance from patients at time of arrival.
• Provide support for all incoming calls to the clinic.
• Communicates the arrival of patients to the clinical area.
• Completes pre-certification/pre-authorizations before patient arrival.
• Prepares charts/paperwork for next day's patients.
• Supports check-out process by calculating and collecting charges.
• Assists scheduling processes for the clinic.
• Performs other duties as required.
• May need to move between locations as needed.
