Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a part-time Cook in the Irvine/Newport Beach area. You will prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items for meals and events, following Sodexo’s standards for quality and safety.

The role operates in a fast-paced kitchen with emphasis on safe, efficient practices and a clean workstation. The position requires 0–2 years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and ability to read recipes and follow instructions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and directions for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and plan supplies and equipment.
• Significant walking or standing for extended periods.
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Attend work and show up on time for scheduled shifts.
• Other duties may be assigned based on account needs.
