Columbus Metropolitan Library - Reynoldsburg Branch is seeking a Customer Services Specialist for 20/24 hour per week, non-exempt, on-site role in Reynoldsburg, OH. Starting pay ranges from $18.01 to $23.26 hourly, commensurate with experience.

Primary duties include greeting customers, assisting with accounts and materials, handling cash, and supporting location operations. The position emphasizes a diverse, inclusive workplace with solid benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Ability to operate library technology including PC, email, Windows/Microsoft Office and other equipment.
• Reliable transportation to report to job assignments and other locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Processes and sorts materials including returned items, reserves, and new materials.
• Greet customers and answer basic reference and directional questions in person or remotely.
• Assist customers with library card accounts and payments; explain rules and enforce regulations.
• Balance and reconcile cash drawers and prepare deposits and reports.
• Resolve customer account disputes through interviewing and negotiation.
• Open/close procedures and maintain location supplies and bulletin boards; ensure neat and inviting environment.
• Maintain library collection by handling materials and processing reports and withdrawals.
• Provide training on library technology to customers and staff; troubleshoot tech issues.
• Coordinate volunteers and orient new staff to Customer Services tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including task forces or committees.
