Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Southeast Branch in Groveport, OH is seeking a Customer Services Specialist to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for customers, helping with library cards, guiding patrons, and resolving questions.

The role includes cash handling, opening/closing, assisting with technology, training users on library tools, coordinating volunteers, and supporting daily operations. Starting pay ranges from $18.01 to $23.26 hourly, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
• Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Ability to operate library technology including personal computer, email, software programs (i.e. Windows/Microsoft Office) and other job-related equipment and systems.
• Ability to utilize reliable transportation to promptly report to job assignment and other locations, per job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for library customers and resolve questions.
• Assist with library card accounts and process payments.
• Balance cash drawers and prepare deposits.
• Open/close location and manage supplies.
• Provide training on library technology to patrons.
• Coordinate volunteers and support staff tasks.
• Troubleshoot technology issues with IT as needed.
