Job summary

The South High Branch of Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a part-time Customer Services Specialist to provide excellent customer service, determine patron needs, and direct customers to resources. Responsibilities include assisting with accounts, processing materials, and supporting program activities.

Additional duties involve helping patrons with technology, handling transactions, and coordinating volunteers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Ability to operate library technology and standard software.
• Ability to report to job assignments using reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and determine needs, guiding them to staff and resources.
• Process and sort materials, including returns, reservations, and new items.
• Assist customers with library accounts, including payments and account rules.
• Balance cash drawers, prepare deposits, and generate reports.
• Troubleshoot library technology and assist with devices for patrons.
• Coordinate volunteers and assist with program preparation and tasks.
• Maintain a neat, inviting location and assist with clerical duties.
