Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library in Columbus, Ohio seeks a part-time Customer Services Specialist (20/24 hr./Non-Exempt) for the Main Library's Circulation Department.

You will greet customers, help with library cards and accounts, process payments, balance cash drawers, and guide patrons to materials and technology, ensuring a positive experience. The role includes evening and weekend shifts with some scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to express self effectively in writing and speaking.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Ability to operate library technology including PC, email, software programs (Windows/Microsoft Office) and other job-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and answer basic reference questions in person or remotely.
• Assist customers with library card accounts and payments.
• Balance cash drawers and prepare deposits.
• Open/close procedures and maintain location cleanliness.
• Maintain library materials and shelves and process withdrawals.
• Provide training on library technology to customers and staff.
