Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a part-time associate to deliver friendly customer service, assist shoppers with merchandise selection, and efficiently process sales transactions. You will help with stock, inventory, and store upkeep while supporting the Store Manager with daily activities and opening/closing duties as required.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling, physical ability to lift up to 40–55 lbs, and prior retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Greet customers and assist with merchandise selection and purchases.
• Proficient in handling transactions and operating the POS system.
• Maintain a clean, stocked store and provide friendly service.
• Prior retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and thank customers in a positive manner.
• Answer questions and resolve customer inquiries.
• Build basket value via suggestive selling and promotions.
• Keep shelves stocked and store clean and organized.
• Support store operations and assist with opening/closing as needed.
• Assist in unloading merchandise and transferring stock to floor.
• Maintain loss prevention by staying vigilant in-store.
