Job summary

Malcolm X College is seeking a part-time IT Services Associate to support computer hardware and software for students and staff within the Information Technology Department. The role includes on-site and remote support, equipment management, and basic AV training to assist events and classrooms.

The position emphasizes service excellence, teamwork, and responsiveness, with duties ranging from ticketing to asset protection.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Processing or related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two years of related work experience.
Knowledge and experience with supporting both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
Knowledge of current Windows versions (XP, Windows 7), browsers (IE, Chrome, Safari) including networking concepts and troubleshooting skills.
Strong verbal and written communication; good teamwork and self-starting abilities.

Responsibilities

Provides computer hardware and software technical support in person and remotely to students, administrators, faculty and staff.
Maintains, installs and tests software applications on college hardware.
Submits help desk tickets to assist users with technology issues.
Protects equipment assets through inventory management and maintenance planning.
Manages and tracks equipment designated for use by students and staff.
Facilitates equipment use for internal and external events.
Assembles/disassembles equipment on site before and after classes.
Provides limited training to audio-visual/multimedia users.
Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
Performs other duties including after-hours/on-call as needed.
